the history and art of making candy
I love making candy. I try to use the same tools and techniques that candy makers used since the late 1800s. For every batch of candy made I am rewarded with a big smile and a brief moment of happiness. I often hear stories of a simpler time when people reminisce about buying candy from their neighborhood store with their pocket change or share stories of times with their parents or grandparents and the joy from a simple piece of candy.
The Candy
Hard candy comes in many forms and I like to make them all. You'll find drop candy, image candy, lollipops, clear toy candy, stick candy, opera twists, ribbon candy and of course candy canes.

Embracing the history
All the candy I make is produced by hand, often with the very same equipment from the late 1800's and early 1900's. These machines are carefully cleaned and restored to put back into small batch production just as they were 100 years ago.
